Positive Birth Movement Tooting
Updated: Mar 25
I’m so excited to be facilitating the Positive Birth Movement Tooting!
I read the book The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill when I got pregnant with baby Arthur thanks to a friend who lent it to me. I’ve been a supporter of the movement since then and thrilled to be facilitating the group with Kylie, an amazing homebirth midwife at St George's, and Jeni a passionate local mum. We all love talking about birth and facilitating meet-ups for women to talk about birth in a safe environment.
We meet on the first Thursday of every month at Graveney & Meadow (40 Mitcham Rd, Tooting, London SW17 9NA). Due to current situation we are meeting via Zoom.
Each month we discuss a different topic; all very relevant for any type of birth to gain in confidence and learn from each other. We ask for a voluntary donation that goes towards our yearly fee to be official facilitators (please don't need to feel obligated to donate though). Partners, mums and your other children are welcome to join too!

What exactly is The Positive Birth Movement?
It’s global movement that spreads positivity about childbirth via a global network of free Positive Birth groups, joined up through social media. With over 400 groups worldwide, there is obvious demand from women across the world to shake up the way we talk about birth. The groups are a place for women to get support and information, and learn more about their birth choices.
Every woman deserves a positive birth but what does it really mean?
· Women are where they want to be
· Choices are informed by reality not fear
· Women are listened to and treated with respect and dignity
· Mothers are empowered and enriched
· Memories are warm and proud
The group is a friendly space for pregnant women to connect, share stories, expertise and positivity about childbirth. It doesn't matter if it's your first, second or third child, come along and join the conversation.
We look forward to seeing you at our meet-ups!
